Tim helpfully informs us that this song is about cheese, the lyrical protagonist being a cheesemaker not unlike Alex James of the pop group Blur. He is supposedly jealous of his rivals' ability to make their cheese hard, when all his efforts thus far have resulted in material suitable only for spreading on bread in the manner of a particularly runny Camembert, or possibly a Finnish raejuusto. This explanation is as plausible as any the listener may come up with on his or her own.
The vocal stylings on this track appear to be based on some of Tim's favourite seabirds - the slow burbling bark of the gannet morphs into the harsh cries of the arctic skua. There's a few auks in there somewhere too. When asked whether he expected this kind of singing to become fashionable in due course, Tim declared that he had already copyrighted it so there was "no chance". He was however prepared to concede that land-based birds were not covered by the paperwork.
